SUMMARY It would seem obvious that the European Antichrist would be Jewish in order to effectively deceive and betray Israel during the 7-year Great Tribulation. (Just as Christ was Jewish, Satan's counterfeit "Messiah" would be also.) Indeed, Dr. Kissinger has already set the precedent during the '73 Yom Kippur War. It is notable that religious Jews are expecting Meshiach to appear as a relatively normal, righteous, and peace-making man of highly-respected stature as opposed to the God-Man of Christianity. (One may note the Messianic fervor among many Hasidic Jews after the '94 death of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson in Brooklyn, New York. Although his resurrection as the Messiah seemed imminent to many, Rabbi Schneerson reportedly never stepped foot in the Holy Land.) Furthermore, any aspiring Antichrist who wishes to make the world his footstool would invariably find it necessary to infiltrate and weaken the world's strongest economic and military superpower by demoralizing the citizenry over an unpopular and divisive war, opening its markets to unfair and lopsided trade, and destabilizing its economy through high inflation. It appears likely that the prophetic 7-year security agreement with Israel (Covenant with Death) will occur after a major military crisis in the Middle East sometime during the year 2006 or shortly thereafter. As a prominent and world-respected diplomat with previous experience in Mideast affairs, a special envoy Henry Kissinger could easily confirm such an agreement enforced on behalf of US/UN troops--thereby encouraging Israel to begin construction of the third Temple in the area immediately adjacent to the Islamic Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount. (While the Holy Place and Holy of Holies can be built in the area north of the Dome of the Rock, the Dome itself can be enclosed within the Court of the Gentiles.) It appears equally obvious that the False Prophet who directs the world's post-Rapture population to worship the Antichrist (or his electronic Image) would be a Roman Catholic pontiff who leads the ecumenical and apostate one-world church (great whore of Babylon) that is to rise up in the last days. The Catholic Church's heresies are well documented and include false sacraments, prayers to the saints, the veneration of images, and "forgiveness" of sins by a "priest." The false deification of Mary--as in "Ave [Yahweh], Maria..."--curiously parallels worship of the Babylonian sun goddess. During previous centuries, the Church brazenly issued papal bulas (statements of "forgiveness") for money! Until the 1600s, Jews and Protestant Christians (including the Waldenses, Albigenses, and Vaudois) were horribly and brutally persecuted by the Vatican for such "crimes" as owning their own Bibles and declaring the papacy to be in error. Since the Protestant Reformation of the 1500s the Catholic Church has, of course, been on its best behavior--but only until the mainstream Protestant denominations return to Rome. Roman Catholic organizations such as Opus Dei (Latin: God's Work) are reportedly working behind the scenes to abolish the separation of church and state. It is not a coincidence, however, that almost every predominantly Roman Catholic nation is plagued by ongoing corruption, political instability, authoritarianism, and a general lack of regard for the rights of the individual. During recent years, one of Jupiter's moons, which is curiously named Europa (666), has been regarded by some "scientists" and science fiction writers as a likely base for extraterrestrials who are supposedly visiting earth. It is plausible, therefore, that the False Prophet (possibly a resurrected John Paul II or future John Paul III) may implicate Europa in the plot to "explain" the Rapture (physical removal of true and born-again Christians prior to the Great Tribulation) as a "mass UFO abduction" of those who were "spiritually unfit" to enter the New Age Millennium. (It is notable that Saturn--the 6th planet from the sun--has a moon named Titan: also 666.) |
